Informatics joins 2016 Best of Anime Convention

Pasay City-Anime enthusiasts flocked the SMX Convention Center in Mall of Asia, Pasay City on Saturday as 2016 Best of Anime convention kicked off.

Many of the enthusiasts that went to SMX Convention Center wanted to see and have a photo opportunity with their favorite anime characters that were brought to life by several cosplayers. They were in awe of the different anime booths and boutiques that offered variety of anime merchandise.

And true enough, the event exceeded their expectations as they all went home with an Insanime-7tagram-worthy photos with their preferred anime icons.

One of the exhibitors in the said convention is Informatics Philippines, the country’s frontrunner in terms of providing Information and Communications Technology education both in higher education and short courses.

Informatics recognizes the power of animation to touch and inspire young minds especially in this age in time where creating animated contents is made easier by the high internet speed and more advanced animation tools.

Part of its commitment to produce graduates that could be innovators of the world is its effort to offer IT empowered courses that includes animation, which is mainly one of the reasons why Informatics joined the convention.

“We bring Informatics here at the Best of Anime Convention to encourage people, especially the young ones who are anime enthusiasts to not only idolize or patronize anime programs but also level up and innovate by being successful animators,” said Ms. Roche De Guzman, Center Manager of Informatics Institute Megamall.

“Who knows they could be the next big thing in the international animation industry just like Paul Abadilla, one of the animators of Disney-Pixar’s “Finding Dory” who made us all Filipinos proud. That’s why we are here to guide them. That’s why Informatics exists,” Ms. De Guzman added.

Ms. De Guzman also emphasized that making Informatics visible to conventions like this is a reiteration of its willingness to train creative minds and equip them with creative and technical skills that will lead them to a better future, especially now that animation alongside Information Technology and Web Development is undeniably one of the highest paying jobs today. In fact, an animator or multimedia artist can earn an average salary of USD 76,320 per annum, or equivalent to almost 3.5 million pesos, and its demand in the market is really high.

The Best of Anime 2016 convention will run for two days, from September 17-18 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Function Rooms 3-4, 3rd level of SMX Convention Center.

Exciting activities such as meet and greet with anime icons Haruna Luna, Misa, Liui and Jun Kaise await fans in the convention.
